This is a space for sharing the journey of being an educator.

Being the daughter of two career maverick educators, I'm a direct product of their passion to serve scholars inside and outside the classroom. Now I'm carrying on my mom and step-dad's legacy for the next generation of scholars and educators.
Today, the role of educator has transformed alongside the technology transformation inside the classroom. I am active on social media in order to advocate for fostering communities centered on inclusivity and literacy. Previously, I've moderated #MISDSummerLit, McKinney ISD's online summer Professional Development focused on young adult and middle grade contemporary texts and the nonnegotiable need for inclusive texts. Currently, I serve as the English 2 Team Lead at McKinney High School and as McKinney High School's Black Student Union Sponsor.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
At the center of my teaching pedagogy is the belief that we must place #MaslowBeforeBloom, or in other words: advocate for mental health awareness and mental health access for all scholars and educators, now more than ever.

You can find me cheering obnoxiously at extracurricular activities, attending Pilates, writing in one of my bullet journals, or with my head in a book.
